The name of this place of pilgrimage with its Marian shrine dates back to the martyr Pelagius in the 3rd century. He was highly revered in the Lake Constance area. The pilgrimage church is dedicated, however, to the Mother of God. St. Pelagiberg serves as an apostolate to the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter. It observes mass according to the traditional Tridentine Rite (recited in Latin).
